School of Life Graduation Report

On Wednesday, May 14th Word of Life Church in Sand Springs, Oklahoma hosted the 2008 Graduation Exercises for School of Life with nine first year graduates and seven second year or CEC graduates. The graduates marched into the auditorium to the tune of "Pomp and Circumstance."
The ceremony began with Praise and Worship. Two of the second year graduates were part of the Praise and Worship team, Marsha Palmer singing and Jim Palmer playing the piano. Joni Williams, a second year graduate delivered the offertory followed by Robin Breeden another second year graduate singing a solo for special music.
Executive Director Dave Warwick began the proceedings with prayer and then served officially in the capacity of emcee. He welcomed everyone and then thanked all of the families and friends for their support. He said that it was a sacrifice to have a loved one spending the amount of time that it takes to successfully finish school. He also recognized the need for families and friends to support a loved one who has dedicated themselves to serving the Lord and submitting to His call on their lives. He then introduced all of the students and staff with gratitude for all of their hard work and extra efforts during the year.
Director Millie Warwick then addressed the students and staff. She encouraged the students to continue growing as they prepare to be involved in ministry and thanked the dedicated teachers for all their hard work. She shared how it takes everyone faithfully doing their part to make the school year successful.
The first year Valedictorian, Chelsea Campbell, encouraged the students and invited others to consider including School of Life in their future. She gave some real life examples of what School of Life did for her personally this year.
The second year Valedictorian, Debbie Greco, gave a very rousing presentation for the students on the importance of the Word of God and not letting their study cease with the end of school. She also admonished the staff with the rewards that come from giving their time to God in service.
Pastor Kenny Powers from A Glorious Bible Church in Wichita, Kansas gave the commencement address. He began by praising the valedictorians for their excellent and encouraging speeches and said that they were very tough speeches to follow. He spoke to the graduates from Ephesians 4:1 about walking worthy of the call upon their lives. He reminded them of the gifts that have been given them by God and that they have a purpose that they were created for. He said that the main reason for all of this preparation was for seeking and saving the lost. There is no greater call than winning the lost. He encouraged them to remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit so that others would be affected by the anointing upon them.
Linda Scott then announced each graduate. The graduates came forward to shake hands with the founders and leaders and receive their diplomas.
Afterwards Pastor David Emigh, President and Founder of School of Life charged the new graduates to continue to utilize all of the knowledge they had gained in their months of study.
John 14:16 says that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and bring to our remembrance all that Jesus has said. The School of Life graduates know that the seeds of truth placed inside of them through study and prayer will be brought forth in their future ministry. The first year graduates have received one hundred hours of teaching and the second year graduates have received two hundred hours of teaching. Those who know them have witnessed how this intensive study of the Word has changed their lives.
The ceremony ended with all of the instructors, staff, commencement speaker Pastor Powers and his wife laying hands on the graduates and praying for them. Impartations of the anointing are released through the laying on of hands according to Romans 1:11, 1 Timothy 4:14 and 2 Timothy 1:6.
School of Life was birthed in 1981 by Pastor and Teacher David Emigh who wanted a Bible school where people could increase their knowledge of God’s Word and not have to leave their jobs to attend. The spirit of excellence of the leadership has caused tremendous growth over the years as they strive to be at the highest level of quality possible.
School of Life is now well established in Carlsbad, New Mexico; Wichita, Kansas; Niagara Falls, New York; Fergus Falls, Minnesota; St. Augustine, Florida; The Philippines; Zimbabwe; Japan; Tanzania; Poland and Albania.
Since 1981, we have had 250 graduates here in Sand Springs and are working with 450 part time students taking classes as their schedules permit in order to graduate.
In 1998 the second year curriculum or Continuing Education Classes (CEC) was introduced and we have had over 100 graduates from that program.
The Graduating Class of 2008 will remember this event not only as a celebration of what has been achieved, but also as the start of a new stage in the race God has set before them. The knowledge they have learned will bear much fruit in the years to come as they enter into the next season of God’s plan and continue along the Divine path God has for each of their lives.

Extension Schools
· First, in order to qualify to be an extension school, you or the person that will be overseeing the school must be a graduate of the School of Life. This can be accomplished through a variety of ways; however, the best way is through our correspondence program. The person that is overseeing the school must either have already completed or is in the process of completing the courses in order to have an extension school in your area.
· Secondly, we do not require that instructors be graduates, but they must be proficient in their field of ministry and must be approved by the leadership of the church. The best scenario is that he or she is a graduate of School of Life; however, we realize this cannot always be the case. All prospective instructors must have some credentials toward ministry, whether given by you or through an organization that is accepted by your church or ministry.
· Thirdly, the cost of the curriculum and class tapes to be used in the school and to train teachers in their fields of study is $500. This includes 14 sets of curriculum, worksheets, worksheet answer keys, tests and test answer keys on CD and audiocassettes of each class as taught here. The textbooks that are used are optional and can be purchased either through a Christian wholesaler or bookstore in your area. There is also a general usage fee of $10 per student per course that should be paid to the school on a semester basis.
· In order for your school to be recognized as a School of Life extension school, please adhere to the following:
- We request that you do not mark on, alter or modify the curriculum in any manner.
- We request that no academic changes be made to the curriculum.
- The curriculum that we have provided is a master set, which should be duplicated for each student as deemed necessary.
- We request “School of Life” be maintained as the name of the school.
- We request that you furnish us with names and addresses of all students attending your school each semester.
Our school is in a constant state of growth and sometimes, on occasion, our curriculum is revised in order to meet the needs of the church. Upon completion, you will be notified and given a choice as to whether you would like to obtain the revised material or continue using your current curriculum. Upgrades are provided at no additional cost to you.
· Concerning School of Life Graduation, there are many ways that we can assist you. As an extension school, you have the right to have your own graduation service, but if you would like assistance, we can gladly help you.
The School of Life is designed to become indigenous and to blend with your church or ministry. The rest is up to you – advertising, promotion, etc. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us:
